Capture Your Creative Visions Forever at Photography Camp!
Robert Heinecken once said,
“There is a vast difference between taking a picture and making a photograph.”
At Photography Camp, campers
have the incredible opportunity to learn how to express themselves by capturing
and mastering moments in time and bringing their artistic visions to life! With
a camera in hand, access to photo editing software, an experienced photographer
as a teacher, and the world around them, children are given the opportunity to
create works of art that they can enjoy for a lifetime. At camp, structured
workshops and activities guide campers through their individual camera
settings, visual composition, photography genres and styles, special effects,
computer software and editing, and even designing a photography portfolio. Kids
learn how to truly make a photograph from start to finish instead of simply
taking a picture.
Along with the creative and
technical skills of photography, children also take away many academic skills
that they can then utilize at school. Campers have the opportunity to observe
their environment and make decisions based on their observations, which can be
directly applied to the Scientific Process in science classes. Brainstorming
and engaging in the creative process of photography also challenges campers to
use critical thinking skills, which is essential across all academic
disciplines - from writing a short story to understanding and solving a word
problem! Finally, in a world of exciting technological advancement, experience
with computers and editing programs has quickly become an important aspect of a
21st Century Education.
At the end of an enriching session of Photography Camp, campers go home with their completed works of art, as well as the skills to continue imagining, creating, and developing as young photographers in action; they are ready to make art that will tell their special stories through childhood and beyond!
